AC Milan SampdoriaAC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic was overjoyed with his side’s 4-1 thrashing of Sampdoria, but was disappointed about conceding a goal.

A brace from M’Baye Niang alongside goals from Giacomo Bonaventura and Luis Adriano allowed the Rossoneri to enjoy a fantastic victory in front of their faithful.

“To be honest I’m just annoyed we conceded!” Mihajlovic told Premium Sports after the game.

“We played well, had many chances and Bacca could have added a fifth just before we let one in.

“The performance was excellent, we knew we were coming up against a strong team and did well.”

Milan had lost to Juventus in their last game but the victory has put the Rossoneri back on track as they climbed up to fifth in Serie A

“Against Juventus we lost and needed to redeem ourselves,” Mihajlovic added.

“It was a bad game on both parts but they got the win, yet that came down to playing a new attacking game with a lot of players going forward.

“Today we stuck with the goal of maintaining an average of two points per game.

“We did well, but we know we can play like this anyway.

“Continuing this form is what is needed, we can’t go backwards.

“The next few matches, if we play like today, we can beat them all.

“If that is so, then we can see where we stand.

“It also helps after the winter break we take on all the main opponents at home.

“The lads will just continue to focus game by game and with that mentality we will progress.”
