AC Milan SampdoriaSampdoria tactician Vincenzo Montella says his team need to take responsibility for a disappointing defeat against AC Milan.

M’Baye Niang got a brace for the home side with Eder’s penalty the only celebratory moment for the visitors, as the game finished 4-1.

“The team must take responsibility for this defeat,” Montella told reporters after the game.

“Obviously we didn’t prepare for this showing.

“I had seen an improvement today in some areas but in the most important moments in the game we lost our organisation and thus our team morale.

“For me there is all the dedication needed in the group but we just need to utilise it.

“Congratulations to Milan though, we just need to do better.”

Sampdoria fell to early goals in both the first and second-half, killing off any hope of them getting anything from the game.
“I don’t feel our lack of concentration at the vital moments is a problem,” Montella added.
“The mentality of the players wasn’t broken, but the team do need to sort themselves out to avoid further problems.
“I’m just disappointed our game plan didn’t work, as we trained a certain way so I expect us to play that way.
“Otherwise it’s useless.”
