RuganiSerie A side Napoli continue to be interested in purchasing Daniele Rugani from rival club Juventus during the January transfer window.

The Azzurri had made a bid the former Empoli defender during last summer, but the Bianconeri refused. Current Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri has a rock-solid relationship with the player – due to their shared past venture at Empoli and is trying to convince president Aurelio De Laurentiis to raise the bid in order to strengthen Napoli’s defensive line.

According to Il Mattino, the main problem in the bargain is Juventus’ interest in Napoli captain Marek Hamsik. The Bianconeri are allegedly willing to close the deal only if it will include the Slovakian midfielder.

Rugani might be interested in switching team, since his playing time at Juventus has enormously dropped.

The young defender has merely played one minute in a UEFA Champions League fixture against Sevilla, and has made no Serie A appearances.
