Roma -AtalantaAtalanta coach Edoardo Reja was pleased with how his team took advantage of Roma’s current form to claim a victory against them on Sunday afternoon.

La Dea won 2-0 away at the Stadio Olimpico in Serie A, with Alejandro Gomez opening the scoring before German Denis made it two from the penalty spot.

“We closed them down in the first half and attacked well, showing what we had done in training,” Reja told Sky Sport Italia after the match.

“They were not strong from a physical point of view.

“We exploited the chances we got, in fact not all of them, the result could have been bigger.”

The Italian tactician then praised midfielder Maximiliano Moralez, who couldn’t get his name on the scoresheet.

“Maxi Moralez deserved a goal for his performance,” said Reja.

The Giallorossi came into the match on the back of a 2-2 draw against Bologna and a 6-1 humiliation at Barcelona in the Champions League, which Reja thinks his team did well to use to their advantage.

“It was not easy for them after the matches against Bologna and Barcelona,” Reja went on.

“We did well to take advantage of the negative situation Roma are in.”
