Roma coach Rudi Garcia responded to criticisms following the heavy defeat to Barcelona saying that his side has already proved to be able to react to difficult situations.

The Giallorossi are to entertain Atalanta on Sunday in a match which could turn out to be tricky despite their rivals’ recent poor form.

“My team don’t lack in personality. We just need more consistency,” the 51-year-old told reporters.

“I spoke with my lads, they were not pleased and deceived because we could have done better.

“Now we must focus on tomorrow’s fixture. We’re angry and we want to win to pursue our Serie A goals.”

Despite conceding 31 goals in 18 games Garcia insisted this is just a consequence of their great offensive skills.

“I’m happy to win every game 3-2, but we obviously need to be more balanced. It’s not just a defensive issue, it involves the whole team,” the coach said.

“We have clear goals, we want to qualify for the knockout stages in Champions League and keep doing the good job in the league, to secure at least third place.”

The Roman side have just won one of the last three Serie A matches and are currently fourth, three points behind leaders Inter.
