Wojciech-SzczesnyFollowing ambiguous statements from Roma’s loanee goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny about his future with the club, the Giallorossi have begun targeting the Brazilian Alisson Becker as a potential replacement.

The Arsenal goalkeeper, Szczesny is on-loan to the Italian club until next summer, but disappointed fans by declaring his desire to return to Arsenal following next summer’s European Championships, when his loan contract expires.

Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabatini told the press that keeping the 25-year old shot-blocker will be difficult, but claims Roma already have the spot covered if he decides to leave, and today La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that an offer has been made for Brazilian club Internacional keeper Alisson.

“I know there’s been an offer by an Italian club for around €7 million,” said Alisson.

“I’ve been asked to stay at Internacional until at least January.

“But I also made the management clear of my goals; I want to play in Europe with a club in the Champions League.”
