RuganiSampdoria are reportedly leading the race to secure the signature of Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.

The Blucerchiati were known to have met the representatives of the 21-year-old in Milan, signalling the club’s strong interest in Rugani.

According to SportItalia Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United are also in pursuit of the former Empoli player.

La Samp are keen on taking the defender on loan for one year and six months although they will consider a six-month deal.

The Bianconeri however would prefer to have Rugani join Sampdoria rather than letting him depart permanently from Italy, as they consider him an integral part of their future given Andrea Barzagli’s unclear contract situation.

Rugani notched up 78 appearances and scored five goals for Empoli while on loan before leaving for the reigning Serie A champions in 2015 where he has struggled to find playing time.
