Berardi - SassuoloSassuolo youngster Domenico Berardi is confident the Neroverdi will beat newly promoted Carpi on Sunday and has his eyes on a move to Spain.

Berardi, who has scored two goals in eight matches so far in this season, has also expressed his desire to play for the Italian national team in next year’s European Championships.

“We have had a great start of the season, but Carpi just changed their coach” Berardi said to Sky Sport Italia.

“They will be more determined than ever and will give everything to win the game as we will.

“My aim is to score as many goals as I can.

“Firstly, because they will help Sassuolo win.

“Secondly, because they will help my chances of being picked for the Azzurri.”

Berardi then spoke about his long term future, indicating he may move away from Italy.

“It is always flattering to have so many teams interested me, but I still have to do well for Sassuolo, a club that has given me so much,” Berardi added.

“Like every footballer, I am working hard to fulfil my dream of playing for a great team.

“I like La Liga a lot, they play with the ball at their feet a lot there, which is what I like.

“Between Ronaldo and Messi I prefer the latter.

“Playing for Barcelona? I’ve never thought about it, training with Messi would be great.

“The trio of Messi, Berardi and Neymar wouldn’t be bad!”
