Round 12 of Serie A action saw the teams at the top remain almost inseparable as each of the top five won again.

In a slightly altered format, the weekly roundup of results will no longer be included in this article, and instead can now be read as a standalone piece here.

Our Team of the Week for Round 12 will see a 3-4-3 formation deployed.

Do you agree with our selection? Have your say in the comments below!

Gianluigi Donnarumma – AC Milan

The Rossoneri’s form has improved drastically since the 16-year-old has been in goal and his ability was evident for all to see against Atalanta on Saturday. The Italian made a number of good saves with the most notable being with his feet to deny Alberto Grassi what would have been a well-deserved goal for the visitors.

Davide Astori – Fiorentina (Three Team of the Week appearances)

A typically composed performance from Astori in a comfortable Viola win. Completely nullified the threat of Eder, who has been in form this season, and was confident in building attacks from deep as always.

TOTW 2015-16 GW12Domenico Maietta – Bologna

The defender swallowed up everything that Verona threw at the Rossoblu in a commanding performance. Barely put a foot wrong all day and is more than deserving of recognition for his display.

Patrice Evra – Juventus

The former Manchester United full-back is fast becoming a key player in this Bianconeri side. His Juve career started in relatively unimpressive fashion but has this season taken on huge responsibility with important players leaving in the summer. Another good performance capped off with a goal will leave Massimiliano Allegri pleased.

Federico Bernardeschi – Fiorentina (2 apps)

Gave Samp a torrid time throughout the game as he tirelessly marauded up and down his flank. Pedro Pereira was eventually withdrawn to spare him further humiliation from Bernardeschi.

Radja Nainggolan – Roma (3 apps)

Had the honour of captaining the Giallorossi in a dominant Derby della Capitale display and he shone in his role as leader. Put in a claim to take the armband permanently when Daniele De Rossi and Francesco Totti move on as he was typically all-action. His only disappointment will be not capping the performance off with a goal having hit the woodwork.

Marten De Roon – Atalanta (2 apps)

The Dutch midfielder was flawless in an unexpectedly positive Orobici performance at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. He and his midfield partners controlled the match from start to finish and completely outplayed their Milan counterparts.

Gervinho – Roma(2 apps)

Yet another impressive showing from the Ivorian who appears to be reborn in recent weeks as Roma continue their Scudetto push. In the absence of Mohamed Salah he is likely to become an even more important member of the Giallorossi team.

Josip Ilicic – Fiorentina (2 apps)

Continued his impressive form this season with a stellar performance against Samp. Was his side’s standout player by a mile having converted an early penalty to give the Viola the lead.

Gonzalo Higuain – Napoli (6 apps)

El Pipita is unstoppable at the Stadio San Paolo this season and Udinese are no more than his most recent victims. Every time he plays at home he inevitably scores and finds himself in the Team of the Week. Should his form continue, Maurizio Sarri will be quietly confident of a Scudetto push.

Alejandro Gomez – Atalanta (3 apps)

The man known as Papu has been outstanding for the Bergamo side so far this season and this weekend was no different. The Milan defence barely had a minute of rest with the Argentine forward around as he linked well with Mauricio Pinilla and his supporting midfielders. Will feel aggrieved that he couldn’t help La Dea claim a win at the San Siro.
