Ranocchia - Napoli v InterSporting Clube de Portugal are looking to bolster their defensive ranks by signing Inter’s Andrea Ranocchia.

The Italian has been largely unused by Nerazzurri coach Roberto Mancini during this campaign, and the Portuguese outfit are now looking to take advantage of the situation and make a move in the January transfer window.

O Jogo have confirmed that Sporting coach Jorge Jesus is searching for an experienced central defender from the top European leagues, and he has identified Ranocchia as a potential target.

The Primeira Liga side have already displayed their interest in Serie A talent recently, after signing both Alberto Aquilani and Ezequiel Schelotto in the previous months.

However, they may face stiff competition from both Everton and Liverpool for the 27-year-old, after The Daily Star reported that the Premier League duo are keen on obtaining the player’s signature.
