Udinese SampdoriaUdinese beat Sampdoria 1-0 at the Stadio Friuli on Sunday afternoon, leaving Vincenzo Montella without a point on his debut as Samp coach.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu scored the winner for the Zebrette in the first half while Blucerchiati defender Ervin Zukanovic got a red card for fouling the goalscorer late in the game.

The Zebrette dominated possession early without having a clear chance on goal but the Doriani eventually found their rhythm. Eder’s angled drive just missed the goal after running onto a through-ball and Roberto Soriano’s long-range effort also went off-target.

Udinese striker Cyril Thereau then brought a fine save out of Emiliano Viviano and then Samp full-back Lorenzo De Silvestri blasted a shot high after running onto Fernando’s lobbed pass.

Badu put the Zebrette 1-0 up after 35 minutes after Rodrigo Aguirre’s cross from the right wing found Thereau, who flicked the ball for the Ghanaian to smash the ball in.

Early in the second half, Udinese received a couple of corners but didn’t capitalise on them. Samp had some chances too, including a Luis Muriel effort which horribly flashed across goal largely due to the striker being put off balance.

Antonio Di Natale’s low cross caught Badu by surprise and he wasted a chance to make it 2-0 by shooting weakly at Viviano. As the game went on, the Zebrette allowed Sampdoria to have more possession but the away side did little with the ball. Zukanovic received a straight red card after fouling Badu in midfield near the end of the game.

Stefano Colantuono’s side get their fourth win of the season and go up to 15 points, one point behind Samp. The Blucerchiati are still looking for their first away win for the season.
