Fiorentina midfielder Borja Valero has declared his love for the Tuscan outfit, announcing his will to stay with the club for the rest of his career.

Valero joined La Viola from Spanish side Villarreal in 2012 and has been fundamental in the team’s resurgence in recent years, earning the love of the fans in the process.

“I want to end my career with Fiorentina,” said the Spaniard to Firenzeviola.it.

“I’m happy here and I have a very long contract. Receiving the applause of the fans is the best thing that can happen to a player.”

Valero has proved to be one of the main driving forces in coach Paulo Sousa’s squad this year, helping the Viola fire their way to the top of Serie A.

“This year we have started well and we want to continue like this,” he added.

Concluding, the 30-year-old unveiled his ambitions for life after football.

“After retirement I’d like to go back to University,” Valero revealed.

“I want to pick up where I left, as I stopped studying after the first year.”
