Atalanta fans were in celebratory spirits on Sunday evening after La Dea claimed their first away victory over Roma in 12 years.

Edy Reja’s side took advantage of a wounded Giallorossi following their 6-1 demolition against Barcelona in the Champions League and left the Stadio Olimpico with a 2-0 win.

The Nerazzurri claimed the points thanks to goals from Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez and German Denis, with the latter bagging his 54th goal for the club since joining in 2012.

Despite few fans making the trip south to the Eternal City, that didn’t stop those at home in Bergamo from giving the team a welcoming to remember.

Around 1,000 Atalanta supporters took to the streets in Bergamo and greeted the returning squad coach with flairs, flags and chants.

Take a look at the scenes as the players were given a hero’s welcome late on Sunday night.
