Napoli midfielder praised forward Gonzalo Higuain after his double helped the side beat Inter and move to the top of Serie A.
The 2-1 win at the Stadio San Paolo against the Nerazzurri extended Napoli’s unbeaten run and Allan also had his say on Yuto Nagatomo’s red card.
“Higuain is a guarantee for us and we know that if he gets the ball, he’s likely to put it in the net,” Allan told reporters after the Inter game.
“We hope to help him score many more goals so he can stay top of the Capocannoniere charts and we can stay top of the table.
“I thought the referee made the right decision to show the red card to Nagatomo.
“He committed two fouls so he had to go.”
Allan also had his say on the game itself and on why coach Maurizio Sarri was right to be angry with the players at full time despite the win.
“It was a hard-fought win,” Allan added.
“But the best victories are hard-fought and we got the three points.
“It’s wonderful to play games like this against the best in Italy and you have to give 110 per cent, as it’s the only way to get great the win.
“Sarri is right to be angry, as in the final minutes we went too deep.
“We gave Inter the initiative and chances to score. We must learn from this and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
