Inter forward Jonathan Biabiany regarded the team’s Coppa Italia victory on Tuesday to be a very important outcome.

Goals from Rodrigo Palacio, Marco Brozovic and Ivan Perisic led to a 3-0 victory for the Nerazzurri over opponents Cagliari, sending them to the quarter finals with consummate ease and the team and Biabiany in particular happy with their efforts.

“It was important to win, we’ve always wanted to do well in the Coppa Italia,” said the Frenchman to Rai Sport.

“We wanted to prove to the coach that we are all here and able to perform,” he continued.

“We are a united group of players and we all fight for the exact same goals.

“Personally, I’m fine, I’ve recovered well and I’m happy.”

Biabiany has made only two Serie A starts so far this season, appearing off the bench a further six times.
