Napoli defender Vlad Chiriches is very happy to be plying his trade at the Stadio San Paolo following two underwhelming seasons in England with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Romanian international has made four Serie A appearances for the club and five in the Europa League where he scored his first goal for the Partenopei.
“We are competing for the Scudetto but there are four other teams on the same level as us,” said Chiriches to E Azzurro.
“I am very happy at Napoli, it’s a lively city and I feel at home here and I am learning Italian.”
The Romanian with 37 international caps is not yet a regular feature with Raul Albiol and Kalidou Koulibaly generally preferred at the back by Maurizio Sarri although he has performed well enough when selected and he made the Europa League team of the week.
