Juan Cuadrado JuventusJuventus winger Juan Cuadrado is aiming for first place in Serie A this year and also thinks his team have a realistic chance of advancing far in the Champions League.

The Bianconeri overcame Fiorentina 3-1 on Sunday night in the Italian top-flight, which takes them up to fourth place in the domestic league standings, and Cuadrado believes they fully deserved all three points.

“I am very happy with the win,” he told Premium Sport after the game. “We have prepared well over the past few days and I think we deserved it.”

Discussing the Old Lady’s Scudetto chances this term, the Colombian international warned that the squad would have to continue playing well and also be wary of current leaders Inter.

“We have to continue like this, game after game, we have to aim to be in first place,” he added.

“Although the favourite for now is Inter who are doing very well.”

Cuadrado is currently on-loan at Juventus from English Premier League side Chelsea, although he is glad to have escaped the restraints of the Premier League and is now content in Italy.

“I did not have the space that I wanted to show my skills whilst I was there, but now I am very happy,” he said.

In recent weeks, Massimiliano Allegri’s side secured qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League and the former Viola man remains optimistic about their chances, despite teams such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid being potential opponents.

“They are all strong teams but we can play on par with everyone,” he concluded.

“We will try to win against anyone.”
