Following an excellent start to the season, Fiorentina veteran Manuel Pasqual believes that his side is more dangerous than ever.
The deadball specialist has been plying his trade for the Viola for nearly a decade, and stated that despite his side lacking a clear star, they can still fight for a place in the top three.
“Competition [in Serie A] has increased year by year, now the competition is more balanced than it use to be,” he told the French website SoFoot.
“We have a solid base to which we’ve added excellent players who brought quality and enthusiasm, but we do not have a star player.
“The football we developed under [former coach] Vincenzo Montella was quality.
“But with our new coach [Paulo] Sousa’s style, we have more ability to be dangerous and therefore we can score more easily.
“There were times when we played beautiful in the past, but failed to get the points and we were criticised for it.
“Now we can not play better.
“We are making much out of our play than previous seasons.”
