_83795147_sousa_gettyFiorentina coach Paulo Sousa believed his side controlled the game against Juventus, despite the fact they fell to a 3-1 defeat in Turin.

Josep Ilicic initially gave the Viola the perfect start from the penalty spot after two minutes, however goals from Juan Cuadrado, Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala completed an impressive comeback from the Bianconeri.

“First off we did not disappear in the second-half,” Sousa told Premium Sport “In fact, we controlled the game.

“In the final stages we did not do much and when we did there were always players surrounding us. Juventus were strong defensively and that put us in trouble.”

Fiorentina had been on unbeaten run up until Sunday, although the Portuguese tactician has admitted that it is unlikely he will change much ahead of the forthcoming fixture against Chievo.

“I thought we lacked a bit of patience today,” Sousa added. “But we will come out of this match the same as usual.

“We know what our strengths our and we still have them. It is not easy to come away from the Juventus Stadium with anything, however the future results will prove our worth.

“One thing I do want to say is that we need to find a way to score more goals from outside the box.”

The conference concluded when Sousa was questioned on whether or not he would consider another coaching job in the future, with his former club from his playing days in Turin a possibility.

“I’ll be honest and clear when I say the following,” Sousa concluded. “I never thought of a certain team to coach and I thank God for where I am in my life currently.

“Of course I am glad to have received such a gracious welcome in Turin and could not ask for anything more.

“I would certainly consider any job that came my way however. But for now I’m happy where I am and my focus is solely on Fiorentina.”
