AC Milan SassuoloFrosinone will host AC Milan at the Stadio Matusa on Sunday evening in Serie A, as they try to bounce back from a thrashing against Palermo last week.

Currently the Canarini are 18th in Serie A with 14 points after 16 rounds and they are two points from safety. The Rossoneri are in seventh place with 25 points but they are not too far away from a Europa League spot.

Frosinone lost 4-1 to Palermo last Saturday and the Serie A newcomers have lost four of their last six Serie A matches. Their latest win came three weeks ago when they defeated fellow strugglers Hellas Verona 3-2 at home.

AC Milan have registered draws against lowly-positioned sides in recent weeks, drawing 1-1 with Hellas Verona last Sunday and then registering a 0-0 draw against Carpi the week before. Sinisa Mihajlovic’s team also played in the Coppa Italia on Thursday night in the last 16 and they defeated Sampdoria 2-0.

Roberto Stellone isn’t expected to make many changes to his squad after the defeat to the Rosanero. Raman Chibsah might make his return for the Canarini but he will probably be on the bench and Mirko Gori should keep his spot in the starting lineup.

Frosinone could be missing Aleandro Rosi who has a knee problem and his spot is likely to be taken by new defender Arlind Ajeti. The Swiss-born Albanian international is expected to make his debut for the Ciociari after signing from Basel on a free transfer.

AC Milan will be missing Nigel De Jong, who was sent-off against Verona, and fellow midfielder Juraj Kucka will also be unavailable because of suspension. Mario Balotelli is still a doubt but is likely to make his return after the Christmas break.
