Winless in six Serie A matches and six spots from the relegation zone, Lazio have dug themselves deeper into trouble in the last week of action.

Another loss at the hands of Juventus proved to be a reflection of the struggles that the Biancocelesti cannot seem to shake off, whether it’s on the pitch, the bench, or in the visible unrest watching from the stands.

The Stadio Olimpico seems increasingly less likely to motivate a change of fortune as it once did prior to that fateful reality check from AC Milan at the start of last month.

Not since 2003 have the Aquile managed a victory against Juventus, and even more shocking is the fact that Stefano Pioli’s side has only managed a single win against the current top ten in Serie A this season.

Friday night’s match seemed to ooze with issues from the club across the board, with minimal chances built against Juventus aside from Stefan Radu and Mauricio showing some intent, which goes to show a lack of decent build-up for the real attacking players up front.

Santiago Gentiletti’s early own goal proved that the defence is rife with insecurity to handle the most dangerous scenarios, while the toothless attack continues to fail in overturning poor results.

Antonio Candreva’s half-time removal will leave many wondering what the future holds for the Azzurri international in January, as Barcelona are reportedly keen on his services despite his lack of form.

Coach Pioli called his side’s showing “predictable”, as he will usher in the third retreat of the season at Formello this week in preparation to close out their Europa League group stage away to Saint-Etienne.

Only a positive result will do for Pioli, as his future with the club sits on the edge of a knife as rumours of potential replacements Cristian Brocchi and Marcello Lippi circle; with the latter sitting in the stands for Friday’s clash.

Above it all sits club president Claudio Lotito, who fans were disgusted with after the boss made gestures to spectators during the defeat to the Bianconeri.

The president was subsequently ridiculed by supporters for his lack of consideration for not only all fans in attendance on the day but for failing to bring more supporters to see the club at the Olimpico.

“What happened [against Juventus] was degrading,” a Curva Nord representative told RadioSei.

“It is the culmination of these 11 years in which the president has done nothing to bring people to the stadium.”

Change is bound to arrive in the capital club, whether it is positive nor negative remains to be seen.
