Roberto Mancini praised his team’s performance after they thrashed Udinese 4-0 on Saturday night.

Two defensive mistakes gifted the Nerazzurri the opening two goals scored by Mauro Icardi and Stevan Jovetic, before the former added a second minutes prior to a Marcelo Brozovic stunner to seal the win.

“Winning here is very important,” Mancini told Mediaset.

“The spirit here is right, and it is crucial because there are no easy games; tonight, in some moments, we suffered because they are a good team, and as a result we sat too deep at times, but we improved in the second-half.”

Mancini then went on to speak on his side’s title chances, as they sit top of the table with 16 games played thus far.

“Tonight’s victory does not change much, it’s too early to predict who will win the title,” he said.

“Yes, I agree Icardi was very good, I never had any concerns; he has scored six goals so far, which is a good number.

“Jovetic also had a good game, they are starting to understand each other.”
