Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo believes that his former side Juventus are still the best team in Italy and are the favourites to win the Serie A title.
The Bianconeri have recently advanced to fourth place in the domestic league standings, and Pirlo insists that the Old Lady can use their winning experience from previous seasons to help retain their Scudetto.
“I believe that Juventus are still the strongest side in Serie A,” said Pirlo to Sportmediaset.it. “They are the team that everyone has to beat.
“They are most accustomed to winning the Scudetto.”
The New York City FC star has also declared his ambition to secure a place in Antonio Conte’s Italy squad for the European Championships this summer.
“I am still hanging onto the prospect of playing in the Euros,” Pirlo concluded. “I will do everything to do so but it will ultimately be the decision of the coach.”
