Juventus Champions LeagueRoma and Juventus will both have to overcome former winners to progress to the the Champions League quarter-final as Roma will have to play Real Madrid while Juventus take on Bayern Munich.

Both Italian teams were expecting the possibility of having to face one of Europe’s elite after they failed to top their respective groups. The Giallorossi themselves progressed on a record low of just six points after a goalless draw with BATE Borisov last week.

Rudi Garcia’s side will have to beat Madrid, who currently sit third in La Liga. Rafa Benitez’s Blancos are of course led in attack by Cristiano Ronaldo, who set a much more desirable record this week than Roma, by scoring 11 goals in the group stage.

The Old Lady on the other hand missed out on winning their group after former player Fernando Llorente came back to haunt Massimiliano Allegri with a crucial game-winning goal for Sevilla. As a result they now have to tackle Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich and Die Roten’s own goal-machine in Robert Lewandowski.

The other round of 16 ties are: Dynamo Kiev v Manchester City, Arsenal v Barcelona, Chelsea v PSG, PSV Eindhoven v Atletico Madrid, Benfica v Zenit St Petersburg and Wolfsburg v Gent.
