Garcia AS Roma - Serie AFollowing Roma‘s shock exit from the Coppa Italia to Serie B side Spezia, coach Rudi Garcia accepted there were no excuses for his team’s performance.

The Giallorossi were knocked out in a penalty shootout after the sides could not be separated in 120 minutes, and the 51-year-old did not hide his disappointment.

“It was possible for us to easily win this game,” Garcia stated in his post-match press conference.

“But we didn’t win and that is a failure.

“Spezia’s victory is not only about them as it is mainly our fault.”

Having not won in Serie A since November 8, the Frenchman has been under immense pressure to improve performances.

However, even with the Spezia loss adding to his woes, Garcia showed he was prepared to fight for his job.

“I never give up,” he continued.

“I will continue to fight until the death.

“Sunday’s game against Genoa is critical and I will be focused on preparing the team in the best way possible.”
