Juan Iturbe RomaOut of favour Roma winger Juan Iturbe looks to be near completing a move to Premier League side Watford in January.

Iturbe joined the Giallorossi from Hellas Verona in 2014 with huge expectations, with the club parting ways with around €30 million to seal the winger’s move to the Stadio Olimpico.

It would now appear that Roma are willing to cut their losses with Iturbe, with The Guardian reporting that the Premier League side will sign the Argentine on an initial loan deal for a fee of around €1.37 million, but will have the option to make the move permanent for a further €15m.

Watford, who are owned by the Pozzo family, have looked to Serie A in order to strengthen their attacking department already this season, with the Hornets coming close to signing Genoa‘s Diego Perotti in August, only for the player to opt against leaving Italy as negotiations neared an end.

Iturbe has started just three times in Serie A for Rudi Garcia’s side this season, featuring as a substitute on a further nine occasions, in which time he has contributed just one goal.
