Tottenham’s Ben Davies claims Fiorentina will be a challenge, after Spurs were drawn with the Viola in the Europa League round of 32.
Davies added Tottenham will be confident after last season’s performances against Fiorentina, again in the round of 32, and claims Spurs are one of the best teams in the tournament.
“It’s a tough draw, we’ve seen how well they’re doing this year and how good a team they were last season so it’s another big challenge for us, but we’ll be ready,” the left back told tottenhamhotspur.com.
“In last year’s home game we could have scored three or four goals, on another day, so we won’t be short of confidence this time.
“The Monaco result [4-1] shows what we can do in Europe.
“There are a lot of good teams in the competition now that we’re in the round of 32, but we’re one of them and we’ll go out against Fiorentina and hopefully picked up a result,” concluded the Welsh international.
Last season’s encounter saw the Viola go through to the next round after a 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane and a 2-0 result at the Artemio Franchi, courtesy of goals by Mario Gomez and Mohamed Salah.
