Stefano Colantuono AtalantaUdinese coach Stefano Colantuono has urged his players to stay true to their philosophy after defeat to Fiorentina.

La Viola completed a 3-0 rout with goals from Nikola Kalinic, a penalty from Josip Ilicic and a third from Gonzalo Rodriguez.

“We are judging a 3-0 defeat so it is difficult to find positives, they were deserving of the win,” Colantuono told Rai Sport.

“We played very well and always looked like we could come back into the game, we spent a lot of time in their half.”

Nikola Kalinic gave Fiorentina the lead after a speculative effort from Milan Badelj deflected off the striker and in.

“After they scored through the deflection we went on the attack, hitting the post,” the former Atalanta boss continued.

“The result doesn’t reflect our display, we have our way of playing and it does have its risks, even when we play well.

“We can’t give up on our philosophy, our opponents were strong and have a great striker in Kalinic,” he concluded.
