AC Milan have identified current Italy national team boss Antonio Conte as the club’s next head coach as Sinisa Mihajlovic’s position becomes increasingly untenable.

The Rossoneri have been inconsistent thus far this term, having won just eight of the club’s 19 Serie A outings, with the side currently residing in eight position on 29 points.

As a result, Mihajlovic is believed to be on his last legs at the club with the side set to sack the Serbian should they lose to Carpi in the Coppa Italia.

Nevertheless, Gazzetta dello Sport report that Marcello Lippi could be set to take over as the interim coach should Mihajlovic be shown the exit door and could remain at the club in the future in a different capacity.

Furthermore, the tabloid alleges that Milan could bring in Conte as head coach following the European Championships this summer, with the club set to tempt the tactician with a €4 million per season deal.

Conte is set to leave his post in the Italy national team following the Euros in France.
