cristian telloThe transfer of Porto forward Cristian Tello to Fiorentina on loan is on the verge of going through, with the Spaniard set to end his current spell with the Portuguese side.

Tello joined Porto in the summer of 2014 on a two-year long loan from Barcelona but despite there being the rest of the 2015-16 season left in his contract, the 24-year-old will move to Serie A.

Mundo Deportivo confirmed the signing is set to be completed, announcing the conditions of the loan spell, with Fiorentina having the right to buy Tello outright for €8 million at the end of his tenure.

He has struggled to fit in with the style of play in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, failing to score this term and assisting just one goal so far.

Although the Viola reportedly have a deal in place for the forward, Premier League side Liverpool are reportedly attempting to gazump the Tuscan side at the last minute.

Tello’s parent club Barcelona have had him in their ranks since 2010, promoting him from the Barcelona B side to La Liga in 2011 and he made 59 appearances for the Catalans.
