AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani insists that no agreement has been reached with Roma over a possible transfer of wantaway attacker Stephan El Shaarawy.

The 23-year-old arrived at Ligue 1 outfit Monaco on loan last summer but subsequently returned to the San Siro outfit after the French club decided against sealing a permanent deal for the Italian international under a clause in the contract which bound the club into purchasing the player should he make at least 25 appearances.

Since then, the Genoa youth academy graduate’s future at the Rossoneri has been under intense scrutiny, with reports linking him to a move to Serie A rivals Roma.

Despite acknowledging a potential of a switch to the Stadio Olimpico, Galliani has insisted the club would insert a buy-back clause should the move materialise.

“El Shaarawy cannot be considered absolutely a Roma player,” Galliani told Premium Sport. “We still have eight days the transaction and we hope to succeed.

AC Milan are currently in sixth place on the Serie A table, with 33 points from nine wins and six draws.
