Inter are reportedly keeping tabs on Marseille defender Rolando.

With Andrea Ranocchia and Nemanja Vidic both allegedly heading for the exits, Inter will be looking for an inexpensive insurance option and former player Rolando could fit the bill.

According to Tuttosport, however, Inter will only begin actively pursuing the player should Vidic officially terminate his contract with the Nerazzurri.

The Portuguese spent the 2013-2014 season with the Beneamata on loan from Porto, appearing in a total of 29 matches and scoring an impressive four goals.

Rolando had wanted to make the switch permanent at season’s end but the club eventually deemed him surplus to requirements.

Not wanting a return to Porto, he was frozen out of the squad for the first half of the season before being loaned out in January to Anderlecht where he appeared in only six matches.

The 30-year-old has appeared in 13 matches in all competitions for Marseille this season, with 11 of those matches coming as a starter.
