AC Milan coach has warned his side against the dangers of underestimating Coppa Italia semi-final opponents Alessandria as they travel to the Stadio Olimpico to face the Lega Pro outfit.
The Grigi booked their place in the last four of the competition with a thrilling come-from-behind victory over Spezia last time out and have knocked off both Palermo and Genoa en route to their showdown with the Rossoneri.
“The two matches against them are crucial to our season, we want to reach the final,” Mihajlovic told reporters in his pre-match press conference.
“Our goal is to avoid making Alessandria and my friend Gregucci’s run even more extraordinary.
“I will put my best team on the pitch, if I see someone is saving themselves for the derby, they won’t play on Sunday.”
Mihajlovic emphasised the importance of a strong first-leg display and says his team selection will reflect his desire to lift the trophy.
“We must prepare for it as if it was a knockout match,” explained the AC Milan coach.
“[Mario] Balotelli and [Kevin-Prince] Boateng need to play to get back into shape, but they must earn their place.
“Luiz Adriano is focused, he returned Thursday even though he trained well.”
