montolivoRiccardo Montolivo wants to see passion from his AC Milan side when they take on his old team Fiorentina.

The midfielder acknowledged that the Rossoneri aren’t playing in the most tranquil environment but he feels they can get a result against the Viola who are nine points ahead of the Diavolo.

“The team recognises that there is a turbulent atmosphere surrounding us but we have to close our ears and give our all as though nothing bad has happened, it won’t be easy to do so but that is our job,” said Montolivo to reporters.

“The Viola’s season has been positive so far, they lost at home to Lazio and I expect they will be aggressive as they look to recover but we must be more aggressive than them.”

The 30-year-old also looked back over Milan’s 2-1 Coppa Italia win over Carpi.

“From a personal and team perspective, I believe that it was an excellent game,” Montolivo added.

“I think the coach was satisfied with the performance and the fact that we made it to the next round.”
