AC Milan are reportedly interested in acquiring River Plate defender Emanuel Mammana as the club plans to strengthen its defensive rearguard.

The Argentina international has been a target of the Rossoneri’s rivals Fiorentina who were touted to sign him at the end of the January transfer window, however the deal fell through due to disagreements arising over the transfer fee for the player.

According to Tuttosport, The Diavolo are looking to take advantage of the situation and lure the the 19-year-old to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, as they want Mammana to form a youthful defensive partnership with Alessio Romagnoli.

Los Millonarios have also set the price tag at €10 million for the centre-back and with both clubs enjoying a good relationship, the deal is expected to run smoothly.

Mammana, despite his young age has amassed a total of 16 appearances in the Argentine Primera Division, and earned his first cap for Argentina, when he came on as a substitute in a friendly for Javier Mascherano during a 2-0 win over Slovenia on June 7 2014.
