Former AC Milan stalwart Massimo Ambrosini has hailed Alex as the Rossoneri’s leader while underlining his importance to the team.
The 38-year-old explains that the Brazilian’s presence in the team brings great benefits as it helps other players around him to grow and improve as a professional.
“Alex is a natural leader of this team,” the former Rossoneri captain told Milannews.it.
“The players and staff have benefited from his leadership skills. Even Zapata too has raised his game under his guidance.”
Ambrosini also stated that Alessio Romagnoli’s dominant defensive displays were a result of the help received by the former Chelsea player.
“This year Romagnoli needed Alex to help him out,” Ambrosini added.
“Romagnoli listens to Alex on the pitch because Alex teaches and directs him.”
