Buffon - JuventusAs second-place Juventus prepare to battle leaders Napoli in one of the most-anticipated matches of the season, the Bianconeri captain Gianluigi Buffon promises to give everything to win a fifth straight league title.

After a dismal start to the season, the Bianconeri have turned their fortunes around, winning 14 of their last league games, and find themselves just two points off the Partenopei in the top spot.

“We are going to give everything to win the Scudetto,” Buffon told Sky Sport Italia.

“It will be a good challenge, a competitive game between two technical teams.

“[Gonzalo] Higuain has often been criticised, but he has always proven himself to be a phenomenal and complex player.

“I do not think either team will be satisfied with a draw, despite the fact that is important for both sides not to lose.

“Napoli deserve to be top and they will come to Turin with enthusiasm and a desire to show off their good work.”

The 38-year-old then praised his team’s spirit which he feels allows Juve to ignore negativity.

“After the beginning of the season, many had given us up for dead, but now we are playing for the Scudetto after a 14-game winning streak,” Buffon added.

“People didn’t count on our technical, human and moral values which have allowed us to do what we have done in recent seasons.”

Juventus host Napoli in Turin on Saturday February 13.
