Lorenzo-Insigne-NapoliAfter losing 1-0 to Serie A challengers Juventus, Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne has admitted that the defeat is painful, although is adamant they must keep moving forwards.

The Bianconeri leapfrogged Napoli in the league standings after Simone Zaza’s late strike, however the native Neapolitan has claimed the result will not decide who wins the Scudetto and that they must remain calm.

“The defeat hurts but we have to move on,” the 24 year old told Premium Sports following the match. “It is just a matter of points now, but it is not decisive. We have to stay calm because they are just one point ahead.

“There are still 13 games to go, and we will continue to do our best.”

Furthermore, the Italian insisted that despite the match’s disappointing outcome, he believed his side did play well and they did try to win the game.

“Juventus are a great team,” he added. “But we came here to impose our game on them and I think we did.

“All that was lacking was a goal.”

Lastly, Insigne has called on the Azzurri fans to stick with the team despite the disappointing nature of the defeat.

“I am sure the fans are feeling bad because we lost to Juventus,” he concluded “It hurts but I ask them to stand by us, just like they always have done in the past.

“We have to keep our feet on the ground and work hard; there is still a long way to go.”
