Icardi InterInter striker Mauro Icardi has announced his intention to stay with Nerazzurri and help the club pick up silverware once more.

The 23-year-old’s future at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza has been much debated as of late, but has now quashed talk of a move away.

“I have been given the opportunity of being captain and anyone would want to walk in the footsteps of Javier Zanetti,” Icardi told Inter’s official channel.

“Now, we must focus on reaching third place and qualifying for the Champions League, which was our objective at the start of the season.

“I want to stay here with Inter, and win with this shirt.

“I am the captain and I want to do great things with this club.”

The former Barcelona youth product has scored 11 goals in 23 appearances for the Milanese giants this campaign.
