Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio stated that earning the three points was the most important thing in Wednesday evening’s narrow 1-0 win over Chievo.

Despite dominating for most of the match, the Nerazzurri were unable to take full advantage of their opportunities, however Ausilio was still satisfied with the team’s performance.

“I must say that I liked the team today,” he told reporters after the match, filling in for coach Roberto Mancini who served his one-match ban from the sidelines.

“We played well and created a lot of chances.

“There was only a bit of concern in the last ten minutes, especially considering our recent games, but in the end we did it.

“The most important thing was to win.”

The win was the Beneamata’s first since their 1-0 victory over Empoli on January 6.

“I believe in this team, there is a lot of quality here and the coach tries to involve all the players,” he added.

“When you have a large group like ours, it is right that opportunities are provided for all.”
