Roberto Mancini InterInter coach Roberto Mancini has insisted that he is positive about his team despite a run which has seen them win just one of their last six Serie A matches.

Sunday evening’s Serie A fixture will see Fiorentina host the Nerazzurri where a winner will claim third position in the league, a target which the 51-year-old confirmed was still the club’s aim.

“Nothing has changed, the team set out with a target and took an extraordinary group of players who have gone beyond our potential,” Mancini told reporters.

“We’ve made a few mistakes but the season is still long and anything can happen.

“Roma, Fiorentina and Inter are all in the race [for third] at the moment and AC Milan can still close the gap.

“But we must think of ourselves, our position is still good.”

In this season’s first meeting between the teams, the Viola earned an emphatic 4-1 victory however Mancini insisted Sunday’s clash will not see a repeat result.

“The first leg was strange but tomorrow will be a different game,” he continued.

“We’ll try to give them as little as possible as the Viola have good players and technicians.

“We must continue to play like we did against Hellas Verona and Chievo, trying to make as few mistakes as possible.

“It will be a beautiful but difficult match.”

Following speculation around the coach’s future in Milan, the former Manchester City boss was clear with his intentions.

“I will remain at Inter forever if they don’t send me away,” Mancini concluded.
