Lazio coach Stefano Pioli expects a big response from his players against Genoa on Saturday evening after their midweek defeat to league leaders Napoli.
The Aquile still harbour hopes of qualifying for Europe and a win over the struggling Grifone could see them close the gap on sixth-placed AC Milan.
“I expect a great reaction,” said the Lazio coach in his pre-match press conference.
“We failed to stop the leaders, we have not shown consistency.
“Not that we lost despite a poor performance.
“We expected a lot in a big environment against a difficult team.”
The Biancocelesti suffered a dip in form during the winter months but have regained some of their old swagger and have lost only twice in eleven outings.
“If we look at the points tally we are behind in what we want and we had to do,” added Pioli.
“We need to look back, we did not play in the month of November.
“Now in 11 games we have only lost two games and that was against the best in Italy.”
