Roma coach Luciano Spalletti claims his players were perfect after a 1-3 win over relegation candidates Carpi.

Mohamed Salah, Lucas Digne and Edin Dzeko scored to cancel out a second half equaliser from Kevin Lasagna.

“We didn’t decline as we have in previous matches, we maintained the same mentality and quality,” Spalletti toldĀ Sky Sport Italia.

“[Mohamed] Salah created a delightful assist for Edin Dzeko, who will have to pay for his dinner now! They both played very well.

“The introduction of Miralem [Pjanic] injected quality, which was imperative to the win as it allowed us to dominate the midfield.

“When you play teams like Carpi there is always the risk of one-on-one situations in defence, but tonight my players were perfect.

“I have quality players at my disposal who have only begun to do their job well, now we are a serious side,” Spalletti concluded.

Roma push ahead of Inter and Fiorentina and crucially create a gap between themselves and AC Milan.
