sarri napoli sassuoloNapoli will meet with coach Maurizio Sarri to discuss extending his contract but will do so only after Saturday’s Scudetto showdown with Juventus.

The Partenopei go into the clash with the defending champions two points clear at the top of Serie A and off the back of a club record eight successive wins.

Although Napoli have an option to extend Sarri’s contract, Mediaset Premium understands president Aurelio De Laurentiis is in a hurry to get the situation sorted out as soon as possible.

Sarri currently earns around €1 million a year and given the success of the side, especially compared to recent years, an extension and a raise are thus definitely on the cards for the former Empoli boss.

Much of Sarri’s success this season has been due to his ability to get the best out of star striker Gonzalo Higuain who has scored 24 goals in 24 games so far this campaign in Serie A.
