Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s agent believes his client’s exit from the Palermo dugout is the best for everyone.

Schelotto succeeded Davide Ballardini as Rosanero head coach last month but resigned after his attempt to obtain a UEFA coaching license was rejected.

“Guillermo is calm, because he’s taken the best decision for the club and himself,” his agent told Calciomercato.

“He has decided to leave Palermo, because without the UEFA licence he couldn’t freely direct the team or affect the path the Rosanero were on.”

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini is notorious for dismissing coaches hastily but Schelotto’s representative says there was no conflict with the president.

“There were never any problems with Zamparini,” he added.

“It was a decision taken together with the Sicilian club and who knows if he may return one day.”
