Another week went by in Serie A, and whilst Napoli and Juventus continue their march, Fiorentina and Inter dropped points.

AC Milan were unable to take advantage while Roma are back on track with their third win in a row. Catch up on the rest of the round 24 action by having a read of our weekly roundup piece.

Our Team of the Week will see a 3-4-3 formation deployed.

Gianluigi Donnarumma – AC Milan (3 Team of the Week appearances)

Another Team of the Week appearance for the rising goalkeeping star in Serie A. Against Udinese he made, at least, three incredible saves, on Cyril Thereau, Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Francesco Lodi and could do nothing on the goal. What a player.

Elseid Hysaj – Napoli

He continued to be one of the most in-form full backs of the league with a wonderful performance against Carpi. He dominated the right flank and combined wonderfully with Jose Callejon to be a constant threat to the visitors’ defence.

serie a 15:16 totw gw 24Kalidou Koulibaly – Napoli (4 apps)

With the whole of the Stadio San Paolo on his side wearing masks of his face to show solidarity against the racist chants in the midweek game at Lazio, Koulibaly made a real difference for Napoli, as his physically and mentally dominated in defence and was also able to suffer the foul that led to the decisive penalty.

Gonzalo Rodriguez – Fiorentina (3 apps)

The viola captain kept his side together majestically after Matias Fernandez was sent off, leading the defence against an attacking home side, and annihilating Mattia Destro, who barely saw the ball.

Federico Bernardeschi – Fiorentina

His first Team of the Week appearance following his first Serie A goal this season. His ability to adapt as a wing back and work ethic have always been there: to this against Bologna he added a wonderful finish. Could Antonio Conte be thinking of him?

Alessandro Florenzi – Roma (4 apps)

His coach, Luciano Spalletti, commented that he wanted to kiss the versatile Giallorossi star for his performance. Put once again in a different position, Florenzi covered and attacked, finding the net for Roma’s opener and fighting until the very end.

Emanuele Giaccherini – Bologna (5 apps)

The consistency he has been showing the past weeks is confirmed against Fiorentina, with runs down the flanks from defence to attack and the usual confidence when it comes to hitting on target, scoring the equalising goal.

Juan Cuadrado – Juventus (3 apps)

The Colombian is becoming decisive in Juventus’ title challenge as he scored the opener away to Frosinone and provided a whole game of runs and dribbles, being a constant threat to the Ciociari defence.

Ivan Perisic – Inter

He came on and changed the game for Inter, lighting up the Nerazzurri attack with fantasy and quality, and finding the final goal to avoid a bad defeat.

Gonzalo Higuain – Napoli (13 apps)

Every week we try and find a reason to give another striker a chance to feature in the Team of the Week instead of Higuain, but it’s impossible to keep him out. This week he scored only a penalty, but it’s the decisive three-point goal and the work rate in helping his teammates was crucial in Napoli’s win.

Roberto Inglese – Chievo

Couldn’t find the goal against Torino, but managed to be fundamental to Chievo’s away win anyway, serving the assist and helping out the team in keeping the ball away from the danger zone.
