Honorary Inter President Massimo Moratti has backed Roberto Mancini, despite the Nerazzurri’s inconsistent and underwhelming form since Christmas.
Il Biscione were top of the league before the winter break, but since January, Mancini’s side have made an alarming slip down the table and now face an uphill battle to qualify for the Champions League next season.
“With Mancini the club started obtaining important records that sometimes people forget. ” said Moratti to Inter TV.
“He is able to overcome any difficulty he may face, but it is important the coach has the faith of the people around him. You have to give him confidence because he has great ideas. ”
Inter’s next game is against fellow Champions League hopefuls Roma, a game which the Nerazzurri ideally need to win to have any hope of qualifying for Europe’s premier competition.
