Gianni De Biasi AlbaniaThe soon to be vacant Italy job could be set to go to Gianni De Biasi with the Albania coach raring to go.

Italian tactician De Biasi, who prior to 2011 had stints at Torino and Udinese, has emerged as a frontrunner for the job in recent days, as a number of other candidates such as Claudio Ranieri have apparently ruled themselves out.

“The national team would be very attractive,” he admitted to Quotidiano Sportivo.

“Who wouldn’t be ready for an experience like this?”

Current Italy boss Antonio Conte has already announced that he will be leaving the job after the upcoming European Championship in France, moving afield to England with Chelsea for next season.

De Biasi still has another year on his Albania contract, and could actually play against his potential future club in Euro 2016 after he guided the nation to a historic first place in the tournament.

“I have a contract with Albania that expires in 2017,” he said, addressing his deal with the country.

“However, I also have an agreement in place that would allow me to leave in the event of a great opportunity.”

The 59-year-old has won 15 games in charge of Albania, boasting a 39.47 per cent win ratio for the former minnows.
