Atalanta AC MilanAtalanta coach Edy Reja has praised his team after they beat AC Milan 2-1 on Sunday afternoon, a result which sees them go eight points clear of the relegation zone.

Goals from Alejandro Gomez and Mauricio Pinilla were enough for La Dea to get past a rather woeful Milan side who failed to turn up.

“The win against Bologna gave us confidence, it allowed us to do good things today.” said Reja to Sky Sport Italia. “We were more creative in attack.

“In the first-half AC Milan played better, but in the second-half we responded and we were the better team. This win gives us peace of mind.

“Pinilla’s goal was fantastic, for him the bicycle kick comes naturally. ”

Reja also paid his condolences to Cesare Maldini who recently passed away.

“He was a great person, a serious but elegant man,” Reja added. “He was an extraordinary person. ”
