AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has reportedly decided to replace current Rossoneri boss Sinisa Mihajlovic with Primavera coach Cristian Brocchi at the end of the season.

The former Italian prime minister has been largely unimpressed with the Serbian tactician at the helm of the Diavolo, watching the team slip further from their objective of qualifying for European football despite his substantial investment in the squad before the start of their campaign.

According to Premium Sport, Berlusconi wants to see Brocchi manage the first team next season instead of other candidates like Marcello Lippi and Sassuolo’s Eusebio Di Francesco.

Part of the reason is because the former Milan player represents a much a cheaper and less complicated alternative compared to the other two coaches, coupled with the fact that he is very much appreciated in the youth ranks.

Brocchi’s playing career involved amassing a total of 99 appearances for Milan while scoring four goals in the process before ending his career at Lazio in 2013.
